COMPETITION
The Competition Committee organizes workouts and clinics throughout the summer, helps maintain competition gear and equipment for members to use, and hosts 2 intercrew competitions each summer. Members of the committee also help organize the LBLG teams at CSLSA Regionals, USLA Nationals, and other competitions throughout the summer.
Competition equipment is kept at each of the areas (East Beach, West Beach, Stillwater) and members are encouraged to use it! If you don't know how to handle or post-op certain equipment, ask first.
If you want to be involved or have questions, reach out to the Competition Committee Chair, Gabe Jordan.

THE ROGER COULTER (INTERCREW)

This intercrew competition is about honoring the legacy of the LBLG Roger Coulter. Teams from West Beach, East Beach, Stillwater, and Junior Guards compete in a 4-leg relay consisting of a run, swim, paddle, and surfski.

CSLSA REGIONALS
2025 Location: Dockweiler, LACo
Regionals, also known as the California Surf Lifesaving Championships, are typically held during the 3rd week of July. Anyone is welcome to compete as long as you're a USLA member in good standing! It's a fun day of competition with no pressure. You can learn more by clicking here.

THE DUTCH MILLER (INTERCREW)
2025 Champions: West Beach
The Dutch Miller competition is held in honor of the late LBLG Chief Dutch Miller. This friendly competition takes place under the lights at 39th place, and includes swimming, paddling, and running events.

USLA NATIONALS
2025 Location: Huntington Beach
USLA Nationals is an annual competition for lifeguards across the country to showcase their skills in a variety of water and beach-based events. This event can take place at any beach in the country, but in 2025, it was held at Huntington Beach and we had a great showing from our guards!
